I find I am not in a party mood with all that is going on in Asia... it doesn't feel right. But bring on the new... and let's hope that things get better for anyone in dire straits at the moment... if you are lucky enough to have some extra wealth, don't be shy about spreading it around a bit... cheers to all!

Something About You has won Song of the Year's...
... Contest in the Electronic/Dance category! I awoke this morning to an email that said that I had achieved a Top 5 placement award, and when I checked the link, there I was under the Winner heading. Can't say as I don't like Mondays anymore... :-)

Freedom of Speech In Jeopardy
Today, Howard Stern was permanently suspended by the kind folks at Clearchannel--you know, the people who bring us the never-ending pop clone drivel on the radio made "safe for kids". We are not allowed to hear about sex in the United States, as it is considered to be "indecent" and "harms our children" according to the right-wing fascists now occupying the White House. However, "our children" are allowed to look at killing and fighting in the streets of Iraq (and everywhere else) any old time, not surprisingly with Bush 43's blessing.

European Distribution/Licensing
As of October 28th, 2003 I am also now being distributed and licensed by RACE.AT in Europe. They will be distributing/licensing songs (thru performing rights societies AKM and AUMEASCAP's European cousins) from my August, 2003 EP, samples. Thanks to everyone at RACE for this opportunity--every little bit helps and no one in the music business gets anywhere on their own.

eSingles Now For Sale!
All the songs from my latest EP (finished in August) are now on the site in one form or another... new songs include Something About You (of which Black Light is a remix, and there will be a 12" to go with them soon :-)), Keep Me, Please Tell Me (a free full-length alt-jazzy tune), etc... some are free samples (all files will be rotated between being free featured .mp3s and $.99 hi-res .mp3 downloads which can be purchased with Mastercard, Visa or Paypal via secure server). All the .mp3 files on the site have now been upgraded... the full-length freebies that were on here up until today have all been edited for small issues (and a few big ones--case in point being some mixing issues on Upside-down girl) and re-encoded after some more mastering and EQing, and they sound great and are definitely worth the $.99--and keep in mind that all proceeds go to the people directly involved in making great original music for the intelligent masses!

Signed to Film/TV Licensing Agreement
As of June 1st, 2003, I am officially signed to NOMA Music in LA. This is a non-exclusive film and TV music licensing agreement for my original songs. The songs licensed by this agreement so far are Fate, Upside-down Girl, Black Light (the Psy-Ops Remix version), and of course, that sci-fi classic, Alien Breathing. Check these tunes out on the music page!

Alison Lorraine Not Welcome on eBay
Yesterday after a few weeks of posting ads on eBay (trying to sell myself and my tunes), eBay sent me a nice little email that said my ad had been ended by them before the paid for end date, and told me I was not actually selling an "item". Well, I beg to differ, and the ad did get plenty of interest from people... some in the biz and some not... oh well... as far as creative marketing goes, that is by far not the last trick up my sleeve!
